This specific role will report directly to the OCI Finance Director and provide financial leadership support to the OCI Eastern Region (TN, NC, and the US/Canada DCs). In this capacity, the individual will perform all aspects of operational finance requirements including month-end closing, cost and variance analysis, development of annual product standard costs and related analyses, analyzing inventories, ensuring that manufacturing costs and related assets and liabilities are understood, auditable and properly recorded. Responsibilities:
The Regional Controller - OCI Eastern Region is part of the Director of Finance - OCI's team and is expected to lead and provide expertise to perform all aspects of operational finance requirements including cost and variance analysis, development of annual product standard costs, and analyzing inventories. The Regional Controller is a key part of the financial leadership team and is expected to perform the following
Responsibilities:
Operational Accounting Partner with the leadership team at OCI's Flat Rock, NC manufacturing facility to develop and implement a ground-up a comprehensive standard costing methodology Implement accounting standards to change Flat Rock, NC financials from a cash to accrual-basis reporting structure Participate in monthly closing process and complete work requirements in a thorough, accurate and timely manner:
Collaborate with Corporate on monthly close activities Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements Proactively identify and address accounting and control issues, and ensure the financials are compliant and correct Communicate identified financial issues proactively to Finance Director Conduct balance sheet reviews on significant accounts, and integrate related findings and actions into financial closing and forecasting processes Track, analyze and report inventory valuations to management, ensure valued inventories have accurate quantities and are properly valued in accordance with GAAP Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Acquire a detailed understanding of BBB business model, processes, procedures and plant accounting internal controls Perform inventory close duties for OCI Eastern Region locations and US Distribution Centers Lead all audit requirements for the OCI Eastern Region and ensure audit demands are met in a timely manner Planning/Forecasting/Analyses Prepare monthly management reports/package for plant personnel Perform analysis of financial results using key metrics to identify trends and problem areas; make specific recommendations to improve the performance, reduce costs and improve profitability Participate in the preparation of the annual operating budget for the OCI Eastern Region Collaborate with the FP&A team to develop financial forecasting for the OCI Eastern Region, demonstrating a strong understanding of the business to complete accurate and efficient forecasts, articulate key assumptions, risks and opportunities (quantify wherever possible) Conduct financial analyses resulting in creative insights, implications, and recommendations about current and future financial trends and areas for improvement, focus or new investment Leadership:
Hire, train, coach and mentor a direct report Other Duties Support financial due diligence and integration of key strategic M&A deals Support implementation/updates of accounting systems Support for process improvement projects WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed mostly in a controlled office atmosphere. The position will be based out of Sparta, TN, with business travel to plant locations potentially consisting of travel to Flat Rock NC, various distribution centers, and Corporate (Daphne, AL). This environment could include exposure to harsh conditions--such as:
dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures--for short periods of time is possible. This employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sitting 70%, standing/walking 30%. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds is required.
